About Acclaim
Acclaim is building the financial infrastructure that powers the global insurance industry.
Insurance companies move billions of dollars every year across claims, premiums, commissions, and reimbursements, yet much of the underlying financial infrastructure remains fragmented and manual. We're building a modern platform that helps insurers move money globally, manage treasury, and automate financial operations.
We're an early-stage company with experienced founders, growing customers, and the opportunity to define the future of insurance payments.
About the role
We're looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to build and operate the platform that powers Acclaim. You'll design the infrastructure, automation, and developer tooling that enables our engineering team to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable software.
This is a platform engineering role. Your customers are our engineers. You'll reduce operational complexity through automation, improve system reliability, and build the foundation that allows the team to ship software with confidence.
Who you'll work with
You'll work closely with the founders and collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Security to build and operate the infrastructure behind the Acclaim platform.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and operate Acclaim's cloud platform on AWS.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, and engineering tooling.
- Improve platform reliability through automation, monitoring, and observability.
- Lead infrastructure incident response, disaster recovery planning, and operational improvements.
- Partner with engineering to build reliable systems and improve the developer experience.
- Collaborate with Security to implement infrastructure security best practices.
What success looks like
Within your first year, you'll have:
- Built a highly reliable platform with strong monitoring and observability.
- Automated key infrastructure and deployment workflows.
- Improved engineering productivity through platform and tooling enhancements.
- Established tested disaster recovery procedures and strengthened operational resilience.
- Helped engineers ship software faster with greater confidence and reliability.
What we're looking for
- Experience operating production workloads on AWS.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong Linux systems administration skills.
- Experience building monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills.
Nice to have
- Experience working in payments, fintech, or other highly available transaction-based systems.
- Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
- Experience designing disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
- Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure for scalability and cost.
Why Acclaim
Joining Acclaim means helping build foundational infrastructure for one of the world's largest industries.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Build products that solve meaningful, real-world problems.
- Work directly with experienced founders and an exceptional team.
- Help shape our product, culture, and company from an early stage.
- Take ownership of meaningful decisions with visible impact.
- Learn quickly while solving technically and operationally complex challenges.
If you're excited by difficult problems, high ownership, and building something that matters, we'd love to meet you.
